Y Network is currently founder-led. This page explains what that means now, what the founder can and cannot do on the platform, and how accountability works while Y is still small.
Y Network is presently operated and stewarded by its founder with administrator tools used for platform maintenance, contribution review, member support, reports, and safety concerns. There is not yet an independent board, moderation council, or appeals committee. We will not describe a future governance body as though it already exists.
Core product, safety, moderation, and policy decisions currently rest with the founder. Member feedback can inform those decisions, and policies may change as the network develops. Material changes should be reflected in the relevant public policy or guideline rather than being applied as hidden rules.
Administrators may correct platform-maintenance fields, hide or remove unsafe or noncompliant material, return a contribution for revision, and make a narrowly necessary correction when required for safety, privacy, or clear administrative error. Administrators should not silently rewrite a member's identity, beliefs, biography, opinions, or substantive offer. When the substance belongs to the contributor, the preferred path is to return it with a specific revision note. Moderation actions are recorded in an administrator-only audit trail.
Spiritual orientation may be offered as optional self-description on a community listing, but Y does not use spiritual identity as an eligibility, ranking, recommendation, or matching filter. The existing family-related field is treated only as a contributor's statement that families are welcome; it is not a safety certification, background check, child-safety finding, or endorsement. Y does not use that field as a directory matching filter at this stage.
Reports and contact messages can be assigned, given internal notes, moved through a status workflow, and closed with an outcome. A person affected by a moderation decision may use the published appeals pathway. Appeals are reviewed in good faith by an administrator who re-reads the original submission, the published rule involved, and the moderation record before deciding whether to uphold, revise, or reverse the action.
Members who want deeper responsibility can now apply through the Help Build Y pathway. Possible roles include Y Connector, Local Y Steward, and Project Steward. Applying does not automatically authorize someone to represent Y, and a stewardship title does not create ownership or authority over members. Roles are reviewed and should have a defined scope.
